Week-long workshops are 5-7-day programs, during which we share the experience of living together and in balance with nature. They have both a therapeutic and educational character and they offer the opportunity to live in the countryside and be involved in a variety of Aurama’s activities and interests. We offer experience in communal living, sharing and creating. You can acquire practical skills and learn about resilience strategies, foraging and permaculture, reading the landscape, its history and symbolism, cook healing food, learn about and expand your knowledge in herbal medicine, take a dive into holistic healing.
Aurama long-stay workshops are certainly a restful escape from our overburdened modern lives, not by giving you the illusion of luxury through having others to serve you, but by giving you a healing experience and the real opportunity to tune in with nature, yourself and others, by expanding your horizons across space and time, and by empowering and inspiring you to reconsider, realise, learn and make steps towards a happier state of being. They are led by Marina, but may also involve the collaboration with other professionals.

Accommodation: For workshops taking place in Paradeisos: there is a variety of rent rooms in nearby villages and the nearby town of Rethymno. There’s also a tent for 2-3 people and some space in the garden for individual tents.

1. Resilience Strategies
Next date: 31 May 2027 – 6 June 2027
1-week long program at Paradeisos garden, during which we share the experience of living together and in balance with nature. It has both a therapeutic and educational character and offers the opportunity to live in the countryside and be involved in a variety of Aurama’s activities. You will also have the chance to participate in walks and hikes and explore surrounding places, which have an ecological, archaeological and cultural interest. You will gain experience in communal living, sharing and creating. You will acquire practical skills and learn about subsistence strategies, reading the landscape, bushcraft, foraging and permaculture gardens. You will also learn about nourishment and cooking, herbal medicine and holistic healing. This long-stay workshop gives you the opportunity to experience the healing hand of nature, sharing and co-creating and it empowers you with new skills and knowledge. Once registered, you will receive the workshop’s programme.

2. The Cretan flora: at the heart of a healthy diet, plant medicine and beauty care in Crete and the southeast Mediterranean basin since prehistory.

If you’re interested in the medicinal value of the Cretan flora, the therapeutics of the real, traditional Greek diet and the historical evolution of herbal medicine and beauty care in Greece and the Southeast Mediterranean, this is a great programme for you. Although not a prerequisite, we particularly welcome health professionals and students practicing herbal medicine, who want to expand their knowledge and experience in space and time. We’re looking forward to exploring together the medicinal dynamics of this beautiful and ancient land that holds the connecting seat between the west and the east, ecologically, historically, but also medicinally. We will visit the local ecology, history and culture, and we will share the principles of the traditional Greek diet in its original meaning, herbal medicine making, cooking therapeutic food, aromatherapy and revitalising body, mind and spirit.

3. Diving into the tradition of building with stone and animal husbandry: building a shepherd’s shed in the high mountains of Crete.

4. The ecological and symbolic language of the Cretan landscape: deciphering the interplay between humans and nature across the aeons.

This programme focuses on learning how to read the ecological and symbolic language of the Cretan landscape, whose form is the final dress resulting from thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years of a human-environment interaction.

Private
Healing is a journey, not an event. Our journey starts with a two hour herbal consultation, during which we will discuss what bothers you and explore interventions that may guide you back to health. These typically include a herbal prescription, nutritional and herbal formulations for the time you spend here, nature bathing, breathing & relaxation techniques, aromatherapy and suitable physical exercise. We will also discuss how to sustain the path towards our personal healing back in our everyday lives, by adopting important routines and becoming aware of causal and harmful agents that you need to avoid.
You will be staying at cozy studio caravan within Aurama garden and you will have four hours a day therapeutic and educational sessions with Marina. The price also includes accommodation and phytotherapeutic meals, and you will be able to rest, spend time in the herbal Garden and reconnect with yourself and nature.

Simple Stays
